RESPONSE TO SOME OF EP’S OFFICIAL STATEMENTS: TASS’s answers

Writer: International Press CorpsInternational Press Corps

TASS - By Alexander Veigar and Ekaterina Vakulenko

The EP’s official statements all dodged their own problems that we brought up: The realistic situation of their framework and lack of discussion regarding the tackling of resource problems.

After writing the news report piece “The EP is over-optimistic about their plans to get more independent from US trade amidst their current situation”, many EP members have sent strong concerns regarding our report such as multiple EP official statements. Furthermore, while trying to avoid talking and mentioning the problems we mentioned regarding their solutions to the problems in their ambitious ideas, many have resorted to cheap “whataboutism”, heading their offensive words against Russia. TASS is an international news outlet, and we do not represent Russia’s interests. But instead, many EPs ignore that fact and attack TASS, while leaving the question of how would EP realistically be more independent away from the US market and influence got no credible answer. From some of our credible sources, even US officials are disappointed at the EP’s plans and would like to see some more sound ideas and solutions being discussed. Same sentiments were also shared by some anonymous high-ranking members of EP, and it's generally the same as our previous report.

As a result, we would urge the EP to focus on the matter and deliver sound and realistic ideas and policies regarding the situation, else even other more friendly press to the EU like AP would also be very disappointed.
