AP - by Hallie Laurance, Becky Clinton

Recently, Niki Anastas made his public comments defaming our AP journalists, questioning the integrity and veracity of our reporting. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, it is essential to evaluate journalistic work based on facts, evidence, and journalistic standards rather than personal emotions or biases.
In this case, Niki is irrational and reckless towards us without providing ANY piece of evidence or at least, quotation. He only used his emotions to judge our journalists, yet criticized them in a smooth way by his so-called “accuracy and fairness of the information”.
In our reporting, AP has pointed out some issues of the ID Group in DSM. Despite the importance of addressing digital skills gaps, the ID Group conveniently ignores disparities in digital infrastructure among member states. Theirs undermines European solidarity and leaves individuals at risk of being left behind in the digital landscape.
In some aspects, the reputation of our agency as Associated Press is being disrespected due to one-way and personal evaluation. Our tireless work to provide accurate and reliable information to the public has been disvalued as journalists being insulted right in front of our eyes.
We therefore demand an official apology from Niki Anastas himself to our agency and members.
P/s: Although Niki criticized the AP for violence the journalistic ethics, he (and only himself) wanted one of our AP journalists and TASS’s journalists to spread the gay scandals between the two anonymous groups.
