The European Parliament Committee plays a crucial role in shaping legislation that affects the lives of millions of Europeans. However, recent developments have raised concerns about whether the committee is prioritizing the safety of the people adequately.
One of the primary responsibilities of any governmental body is to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens. Unfortunately, it seems that the European Parliament Committee has fallen short in this aspect. By narrowing the scope of draft directives mostly to education and training, they have overlooked pressing safety issues that demand immediate attention.
While education and training are undeniably significant, it is essential for the committee to adopt a more holistic approach to legislation. By primarily concentrating on these areas, the committee risks neglecting pressing safety concerns that require immediate attention. This is notably digital security, concerning the information and privacy of Europeans.
Moreover, the recent press conference, held yesterday, presented an opportunity for the committee members to address crucial matters related to public safety. However, their failure to take proper account of the conference is concerning. By disregarding the proceedings and outcomes of such events, the committee undermines its own credibility and fails to acknowledge important voices.
