In a recent fiery debate within the European Parliament (EP), the Identity and Democracy Group (ID) has revealed a glaring display of contradictions when discussing the unified Digital Skills Matrix (DSM).

Despite voicing a commitment to national sovereignty, the ID Group's stance on this critical issue has raised serious doubts, leaving nations bewildered by their actions.

The discussion surrounding the DSM holds undeniable significance in an era dominated by digital advancements. Ensuring that citizens across the European Union (EU) possess the essential digital skills for the modern age is of utmost importance. However, while emphasizing the importance of national autonomy, the ID Group conveniently ignores the glaring disparities in digital infrastructure among member states. This blatant oversight blatantly exposes the ID Group's disregard for the pressing need to address digital skills gaps.

It is evident that the bloc is missing the bigger picture.

At a time when digital prowess is the key to progress, their failure to address digital skills disparities highlights their hypocrisy. By neglecting this crucial aspect, the ID Group undermines genuine European solidarity, leaving countless individuals at risk of being left behind in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
