IMCO joint provisions are some highly ambitious plans that could help the EU compete with the finest competition in the Digital field.
Our journalists at TASS were proud to have access to the ideas of IMCO regarding the Europe development plan. The plans are going to face many hardships and obstacles, but IMCO does not look pessimistic at all. What are their plans for a “better Europe” in the era of digitalization? Here is our interview with Pierre, the representative of IMCO:
Alexander (A): Greetings to the honorable representative of IMCO, Pierre from France. As far as we are concerned, the digitalization era is giving Europe some headaches for the policymakers. What is the IMCO’s vision of the EU’s should-be-implemented policies?
Pierre of France (P): Greetings to our friends from the International Press Corps. We would like to introduce our 3 principle policies that we would like to see the EU implement: 1. A new comparable to the Silicon Valley plan in the EU. The high-tech zone will be placed in North Italy, in the Po Valley. 2. Better customer protection in Europe. 3. More job opportunities for people in Europe.
A: Could you elaborate on how you will get more jobs for people in Europe?
P: We will support our people with our Po Valley plan, which will produce a high number of jobs for the people to take. This will also greatly boost our economies.
A: You and your friends seem quite passionate about the Po Valley plans. What benefit it may bring to Europe in your opinion?
P: Firstly, by utilizing high-tech centralized areas, we can use the Valley to boost our industry in Europe, and reduce potential costs e.g. Logistics costs from relying on foreign areas such as Silicon Valley. Secondly, Europe's research capabilities can be greatly boosted, benefiting from specialized high-tech zones, giving Europe an edge in the tech industry and digitalization era.
