The nation finally got its deserved independence. Many hardships await, however.
It is a glorious day for the people of Nigeria. The British, after a long discussion with NCNC, finally accept that their colonial possession is no longer theirs. Nigerian people finally could enjoy their freedom from the yokes of Western colonialism.
With the conflicts raging on and the Cold War getting hot in Africa, however, the NCNC should have wise plans for how to proceed next. Furthermore, neo-colonialism may return to Nigeria if not dealt with carefully, as Western powers may still try to hold their soft power there. It is all up to NCNC’s move now. May the people’s force be with you.
