A third resolution was proposed by the United Kingdom and the NCNC today, with terms such as the deportation of UK troops out of the NCNC, considering their application into the Commonwealth, accepting Nigeria into the United Nations, and urging all member states to recognize Nigeria as an independent state.
Amidst the cheers and congratulations, the delegate of the Soviet Union raised his suspicions, claiming that while the draft resolution seemed to benefit Nigeria, the nation of Nigeria would still be under the control of the British. Therefore, he disagrees and condemns the Draft Resolution, claiming it to be full of false pretenses and doesn’t actually benefit Nigeria.
