In the latest update relating to the attempt to call for international help towards the Republic of Kenya during the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the world leaders state their national action in succession. Standing up for all African countries, the Republic of Kenya started a controversial discussion regarding the aid necessity during warfare, as well as the process of decolonization and demilitarization.
The discussion revolves around two main suggestions, led by the Soviet Union and the United States of America.
The representative from the Soviet Union recommends aiding Kenya materially in specific aspects which have been severely damaged, “Kenya doesn't need financial aid, it will have a better future if it receives support materially in its weakened fields”. According to this, the Soviet Union was deeply concerned about Kenya’s needs in the military, including all armaments produced by the USSR.
The United States of America suggests maintaining peace and prioritizing human rights, “We call for refraining from any violence including sending armament aids to African countries, let African countries decide their own fate”. The leader from the Republic of Ghana has stated a similar point of view, “The Republic of Ghana believes supporting in terms of medical equipment instead of armament is requisite as the innocent people are severely injured. We call for postponing the warfare”. The Republic of Ghana asserts that the casualties should be taken more seriously, rather than promoting Kenya’s focus on winning by armed power.
The discussion continues, it is now up to the Republic of Kenya to decide its needs and aspirations.
