The French Republic has taken significant steps to foster reconciliation and embark on a journey alongside Algeria towards its independence.
To facilitate the process of independence, the French Republic has made the crucial decision to gradually withdraw its military presence from Algeria. It has set a target of withdrawing at least 50,000 troops per month, with the complete withdrawal expected to be accomplished within a total of 8 months. This step signifies France's commitment to respecting Algeria's sovereignty and allowing the country to forge its own path forward.
Recognizing the need to address environmental concerns and ensure the safety of Algerian citizens, France has taken measures to relocate its nuclear test sites from Algeria to other colonies such as Cameroon or Niger. This responsible action demonstrates France's willingness to rectify past actions and contribute to the long-term well-being of the Algerian people.
Acknowledging the immense damage caused by the conflict, France has extended a helping hand to Algeria by providing medical support, food, and aid. These efforts aim to assist in the rebuilding process and alleviate the hardships faced by the Algerian population. By offering assistance, France seeks to foster positive diplomatic relations and contribute to the overall development of Algeria.
France’s initiative to come to terms with Algeria and its former colonial countries has proved to be effective in light of the decolonization process in Africa.
